Wilson Kubwayo is an adjunct professor at Portland Community College. Originally from Burundi, Kubwayo grew up in a Tanzania refugee camp for over ten years.
At age 13, Kubwayo and his family came to the United States as refugees. Growing up in a disempowered environment living in extreme poverty, Kubwayo faced academic struggles and was failing as a teenager. Kubwayo later discovered best practices that helped him change and reconfigure his life trajectory.
Kubwayo helps organizations and schools overcome obstacles so that they can reach their fullest potential. Kubwayo’s entrepreneurial venture has led him to become a real estate investor, the founder of Our Growth Project and co-founder of Simple X. Kubwayo is also a Portland Business Journal 2020 ‘40 Under 40’ honoree.
